Achievements

  1. Trained more than 10000 poor rural women in Madhubani Painting on fabric & paper.
  2. Marketing of items produced is done by us, for which we have established a very stable national market. It provides sustained employment to about more than 1000 women.
  3. 916 SHGs with 13369 members were formed with their own fund base of Rs.2, 05, 45,400. 721 SHGs have established credit linkages with banks & have availed credit to the tune of Rs.9, 84,900.
  4. Asset base & daily earnings have enhanced. Total SHG linked with Jiveeka and now  these SHG is linked with us in other social issues.
  5. 5 child friendly centers is going on through community without any financial support of GVP
  6. Our more than Three decade long experience of running a community health programme in 40 villages has led to extension of health education & promotion coverage to 20 more villages. Health volunteers & TBAs from 230 villages have been imparted training by us.
  7. To build 5 girls toilet and water supply in Schools for hygiene & sanitation.
  8. Disaster Management Committee 135 members, TBA – 30, Health Volunteer – 30, Vigilance Committee – 47 have trained by GVP.
  9. 47 Village Vigilance Committee, 47 Kishor Samuh, 47 Kishori Samuh and 216 SHG under Anti Trafficking Programme at Supaul District.
  10. On several indices of improvement in health status like infant mortality, child mortality, maternal mortality, crude birth rate, incidence of malnutrition, immunization coverage and diarrhea deaths, significant strides have been made in its operational area and the figures compare quite favorably vis-à-vis the state as a whole.
  11. 400 adult women have literate and they were right and read under Taraakshar Programme
  12. Increasing awareness, accruing benefits and the concomitant enhancement in the self-worth of the groups has significantly added to the assertiveness of the groups for their rights. This has had a positive impact on the local administration making them more pliant & responsive to the needs of the poor.
  13. Another significant achievement has been the quality of solidarity and concern displayed by the SHGs towards others during social & economic distress. The SHGs have repeatedly reached out with resources,
  14. Both human & material, to affected poor people. They have been exemplary in extending their organized support to exploited & oppressed women.
  15. We have been instrumental in carrying out relief operations in areas affected by natural calamities involving the beneficiary’s not as passive recipients but as active relief workers.
  16. GVP has been identified as a partner NGO in the UNDP led initiative on ‘Natural Disaster Risk Management’ for the state of Bihar. The programme aims at community based disaster reduction and recovery through participation of communities and local self-governments.
  17. In recognition of his services in the field of social unity and economic development, the Friendship Forum of India, New Delhi, honored the Secretary Mr. S.N. Jha by conferring two awards on him: Glory of India Award and Bharat Excellence Award.
  18. Gram Vikas Parishad conducted Training of Disaster Management to office bearers and social workers.
  19. 5000 Mango plants have distributed, 64 Farmer club have been formed and are running successfully, 200 grain banks have been formed and running successfully, 15 Class Management Committee established for Girl Access to Education class monitoring.
  20. GVP have organized livelihood training with 30 women in Madhubani painting & 14 women for tailoring training with the support of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) at Indo Nepal border.
  21. GVP have done research work on the various issues like Migration at Benipatti block of Madhubani district, Child labor and child trafficking at Travnigunj & Pipra block of Supaul district and GVP is working on safe drinking water and sanitation hobbits at Sheohar District.
  22. GVP have distributed 180 goats, 30 four wheeler cart, 3 beauty parlor kit and 10 small kirana shop for livelihood to the covid affected migrants.
  23. SHG members are farming lemon grass and produce lemon grass oil and sale it directly.

Man behind the Mission- Mr. S.N.Jha

Mr. S.N.Jha is the man behind the mission under the umbrella of Gram Vikas Mission. Gram Vikas having it’s strong and noticeable presence in north Bihar. GVP is focusing over   various important issue of society touching lives of poor population. Today GVP is associated with many organisations at state and national level.

GVP is working in the following districts Madhubani, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Madhepura, Saharsa, Araria, Supaul, Sheohar and Sitamarhi (Bihar).
